THE MAYOR of Kumasi, Hon. Samuel Pyne has announced his bid to contest the Suame Constituency primaries of the New Patriotic Party provided Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah- Bonsu, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Suame parliamentary seat would not seek re-election.
The KMA boss since October 5, 2021 has commended the Suame MP for his role in the NPP describing it as incredible.
He said Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who is also the Majority Leader, is an asset not only to the NPP but Ghana as a whole.
Mr. Pyne’s decision is premised on his rich experience in local governance and expertise in Public Administration and politics.
He believes that he stands in good stead to replace Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu should he stand by his declaration not to contest the Suame seat again.
The former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP served as a Ward Secretary (NPP) –Old Tafo Suame Constituency from 1992 to1998 after which he became the Polling Station Chairman Suame Constituency from 1998 to 2010.
