A Vice Chairman hopeful of the NPP and former Mayor of Kumasi, Mr Samuel Pyne has commended the General Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong for acting swiftly to curb the growing indiscipline in the party.
He noted such timely interventions by the General Secretary would ultimately help to curb actions of lawlessness and reckless speech in the NPP.
Commenting on the swift condemnation of a statement made by the Asante Akyem South MP during a discussion on Kumasi based Hello fm on Saturday, Mr Pyne stated that the timely condemnation by the NPP General Secretary was in order since the statement from the MP which was targeted at Dr Bawumia had the potential to breed tension.
“I commend Justin Kodua highly for swiftly condemning the reckless statement by Kwaku Asante Boateng, MP for Asante Akyem South on Dr Bawumia and I pray the General Secretary stays on high alert to curb the creeping indiscipline in the NPP”, Mr Pyne noted.
Caution:
Mr Pyne cautioned party members to desist from irresponsible behaviour and actions since it posed a threat to the trust the people have in the NPP.
He noted that it behoves on all members to display high level of discipline so that the party would remain attractive to the public.
The former Mayor said the NPP was founded on solid principles including discipline and the rule of law, adding that the party has structures to deal with every situation it faces.
“The NPP is a political party which is governed by rules and regulations and it is important that members stick to that so that we can stay as a disciplined front”, Mr Pyne stated.
Ambition:
Speaking to this reporter, Mr Pyne said he was seeking to contest the 1st Vice-Chairperson position so he could contribute ideas to solidify measures to make the NPP a disciplined party.
He noted that no outfit or organisation can thrive if members are allowed to do what they like.
The NPP has stood the test of time because founders and some of us decided to abide by the rules governing same.
“I am determined to infuse the good training and knowledge I have acquired since the formation of this party to the administration of same so that we can live up to the expectations of the people and win their hearts in the upcoming 2028 general elections”, Mr Pyne noted.
