The Manhyia Palace has announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, a move aimed at strengthening the club’s governance and strategic direction.
Mr. Kofi Badu, Chief of Staff at the Palace, issued the statement on Friday, February 27, 2026.
The new board is chaired by Mr. James Osei Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Joshob Construction, with Mr. Kwasi Osei Ofori, Chief Executive Officer of Rocksure, serving as Vice-Chairman, and Mr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rigworld Group, is also part of the board.
Kofi Amoa-Abban is a strong Kotoko supporter. He is one of the richest men in the country and he is noted for usually extending a helping hand to the needy in society.
The Kotoko board is expected to assume its statutory oversight responsibilities immediately, although the Interim Management Committee (IMC) will continue to handle day-to-day management duties until the end of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season.
The new board was introduced to the current Interim Management Committee (IMC) led by Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua on Friday at a meeting held at the Manhyia Palace.
At the meeting, the new board chairman assured stakeholders of the board’s commitment to restoring Asante Kotoko to its former glory, while the IMC Chairman pledged the committee’s full support throughout the transition period.
