Story:
THERE WAS a miracle in Kumasi on Thursday afternoon as it rained in the various suburbs of the city with the exception of the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the ancient Asante Kingdom.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was organizing a big durbar of chiefs and people of Asanteman to honour, King Mswati III of Eswatini and his delegation at the Manhyia Palace on the day.
Surprisingly, just before the historic programme was about to kickstart at the ‘Dwabirem’, a huge open space at the Manhyia Palace, the heavens opened up as it started to rain across the city.
It even drizzled at the Manhyia Palace few minutes before the programme officially started, thereby making some of the attendants of the programme to become afraid that the rains would disrupt the event.
Interestingly, it rained at the various suburbs, including even some parts of Ashtown, where Manhyia Palace is located, but it didn’t rain at the palace, which is the venue of the event.
The initial drizzling that was recorded at the event venue somehow stopped immediately the event commenced. While it was raining in other places the venue was rather experiencing sunshine.
The programme which was graced by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, King Mswati III, several paramount chiefs and other dignitaries, was held successfully without any rains falling at the venue.
Some of the people present, who believe in superstition, later on told the Press1News that what happened on the day was a miracle and it didn’t happen by accident.
According to them, they believe that the ‘Nsumankwa’ Division of the Asante King, headed by Baffuor Asabre Kogyawoasu, who are in charge of the river and other deities in Asanteman, perhaps conjured some magic to stop the rains.
They said everything pointed to the fact that it was about to rain at the Manhyia Palace but the rains suddenly disappeared for sunshine to take over so they believe the rains were stopped by some supernatural powers.
