The Asantehene and Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has commended the government’s renewed effort to equip the KNUST Teaching Hospital.
The government has released GH¢46 million and US$38 million through GETFund for equipping the facility, affirming its commitment to completing it.
He praised the government during the university’s 59th Congregation ceremony, held on November 29.
Otumfuo also praised Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who was the guest of honour for the occasion, for her role in securing government attention for the project.
He expressed confidence that the government would honour its commitment and encouraged Prof. Opoku-Agyemang to leave a lasting legacy.
“I implore you to take this moment to immortalise your name as the game changer who brought this noble vision to its glorious completion, a legacy that generations to come will honour you for,” the Asante King told Veep.
The Teaching Hospital project is expected to enhance KNUST’s academic and research capabilities, particularly in the field of health sciences.
