Even though the revered king was not present at the event venue, his name was mentioned by Ofori-Agyeman Boadi several times in his speech.

Nicknamed as Zuba, the new Kumasi Mayor openly stated that he will listen and act on the advice of Otumfuo, who is revered globally.

He also explained that the Asantehene is wise and very intelligent so his wise counsel will help him (Zuba) to succeed in office.

Zuba also used the occasion to thank Otumfuo for accepting him to become the Chief Executive of the KMA, saying “I’m grateful to the king”.

Meanwhile, Zuba, who is very humble, secured a staggering 55 ‘Yes’ votes out of 56 total votes to be confirmed as Kumasi Mayor, succeeding Sam Pyne.
