NSA To Award 3000 Trainees With Diplomas After Pedagogical Studies

The Director-General (DG)of the National Service Authority (NSA), Mr Osei Assibey Antwi says about three thousand graduates who have been deployed to teach at various schools as part of their national service would be awarded with Diploma certificates after their sessions.

This, he noted is to encourage them to take their studies seriously and also to inspire them to impart unto others the the right kind of knowledge.

Addressing the trainees at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the Director General urged the graduates to imbibe into themselves the pedagogical knowledge and skills in the teaching field.

“It is important that once you’ve been deployed to go and teach in Ghanaian schools you are given the requisite training and skills so you can perform your duties and properly impart the right knowledge to students”, the Director-General stated.

Certification:

He noted that the NSA through its Board decided to provide certification in the form of diplomas to graduates that would take part in the pedagogical training.

These Diplomas, the DG stated would further enhance the capacity of the graduate trainees who may want to take teaching as full time employment after service.

The NSA,  the DG revealed was currently committed to providing adequate training and orientation to its graduates who would be ready for service so that they could be retained at the outfits they undertake their mandated enterprise.

“The NSA would henceforth be deploying persons who have been properly trained to ensure they can secure employment after undertaking their service”  Mr Assibey stressed.

PROVOST:

Representing the Vice-Chancellor at the orientation workshop, the Provost at the College of Health Sciences, Professor Christian Agyare commended the NSA and its Director General for introducing the pedagogical sessions for graduates ready for national service.

This initiative, he noted would ensure that the trainees are taken through the rudiments of what they are being deployed to do.

Prof Agyare said the success of teaching is to impart the right knowledge and information, urging the trainees to take the lessons seriously.

“As graduates and aspiring teachers you are in a unique position to derive all the knowledge and skills you need to perform your functions and it is important that you take this pedagogical sessions serious so you can become effective and efficient in the classroom”, the Provost advised.
