Purpose and Conviction:

Speaking at the official unveiling event, Mr. Andrews Perprem, the Founder of the UBB, emphasized that the group’s formation was driven by deep conviction and thoughtful consideration.

“The UBB has not emerged merely by decision; it is borne out of conviction and thorough consideration,” Mr. Perprem stated.

He further clarified the group’s primary objective is to identify and execute the role they can play to support Dr. Bawumia’s bid to lead the NPP.

Additionally, he said the UBB will work to influence the opinions and mindset of its members towards supporting Dr. Bawumia’s flag-bearership ambition.

“Today is not just another gathering; today is a moment of purpose, reflection, and recommitment. It is a day we pause to ask ourselves one fundamental question: what role must we play to shape the leadership of our country?” the Founder stressed.

He added, “UBB did not emerge by accident. It was conceived deliberately, thoughtfully, and out of deep conviction.”

Choice of Bawumia:

Mr. Perprem expressed his conviction that Ghana is currently at a crucial crossroads politically, economically, and socially.

He noted that navigating this phase requires a leader with a clear vision capable of helping the population overcome the challenges of poor leadership and poverty.

“I have become convinced that the next phase of our national journey requires leadership anchored in ideas, competence, integrity, and courage,” he stressed.

He explained that Ghana needs a leadership that:

Understands the modern economy.

Respects democratic institutions.

Can unite, not divide.

The Founder asserted that these essential qualities can be found in Dr. Bawumia.

Rallying Call:

Mr. Perprem tasked the members to campaign vigorously to ensure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secures at least 80 percent of the votes in the NPP presidential primaries.

He also rallied the members to mobilize both financial and human resources in preparation for the 2028 General Election, following Dr. Bawumia’s eventual victory in the primaries.

Furthermore, he charged members to actively engage in grassroots campaigning to secure victory in the 2028 presidential elections.

The Founder emphasized the need for internal harmony: “We are also to promote unity, coordination, and mutual respect within the NPP Belgium Branch and the diaspora at large, by working closely with branch executives and existing party structures.”

Founding Members:

Mr. Perprem acknowledged and commended four members who supported and shared the vision for the group’s establishment.

He specifically mentioned Mr. Ralph Panford, Mr. Richmond Nyantakyi Bekoe, Mr Kelvin Afrifa and Miss Saida Zakari.

These individuals “listened and believed in the idea of UBB, hence its formation,” he said.

“Together, the five of us became the founders of United Belgium for Bawumia. UBB has, therefore, been built on consensus, trust, and shared sacrifice,” the Founder concluded.
