THE MEMBER Secretary of the National Cathedral Project, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, says it is blatant lie that a member of the board has resigned.
“No national cathedral member has resigned and is ready to do so,” he said.
Addressing a press conference organised by the Kumasi Council of Christian Churches Thursday morning, Prophet Victor as the Secretary is famously known, rallied the public to support the project.
He noted the importance of building for God and assured the public that funds donated would be used for the intended purpose.
Clarification:
He revealed that Dr Mensa Otabil for personal reasons stayed back three years ago and that the board was not ashamed to publicly announce his step back.
Rev. Kusi Boafo said Dr Otabil is always phoning to encourage and give suggestions to the board.
He stressed that the board remains resolute and stronger in building the National Cathedral.
Politicization:
The Member Secretary bemoaned that the politicisation has affected the mobilisation of funds for the project.
He said the mobilisation was skyrocketing until the moment fallacies started to be spread which discouraged the contributors.
Rev. Kusi Boateng appealed to the media to help mobilise funds for the project.
Completion Of Project:
The immediate past Chairman of the Kumasi Council of Christian Churches, Most Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo said they are solidly behind the project and will pay what it takes to make it a reality.
“We consider the National Cathedral Project, with the Bible Museum and Biblical Gardens, as a blessing not only to Christians in Ghana but also to Christians in the world,” he said.
Most Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo stated that the Cathedral tends to draw the world to Ghana to experience God and spirituality.
Appeal For Funds:
He appealed to heads of Churches in Ashanti Region to mobilise the church through the means that are comfortable with their particular tradition to raise funds for the project.
He urged each Ghanaian to give Ghc 100 a month for the project.
Most Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo appealed to Ghanaians to donate via the short code *979# which was launched by President Akufo-Addo in November 2020.
