Staff of the National Investment Bank (NIB) at Adum, Kumasi, demonstrated exemplary care and commitment to keeping the environment clean when they took time off their busy weekend schedules to participate in a massive clean-up exercise organized by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
The 20 NIB staff members, led by Mr. Benjamin Badu Preko, the Ashanti and Bono Ahafo Zonal Manager, not only complied with KMA directives to participate in the clean-up exercise on Saturday, June 21, 2025, but worked above themselves.
Surprisingly, the NIB staff hired three tricycles and arranged with the Ghana National Fire Service to clear a choked drainage behind the Absa Bank branch at Adum and its surroundings, impressing KMA officials supervising the event.
The NIB staff took hours to clear debris and unclog a drainage that posed an environmental challenge to drivers and pedestrians whenever it rained.
When asked about their motivation, the Zonal Manager for Ashanti and Bono Ahafo said the Bank considers keeping the environment clean and safe for life a national duty.
He urged individuals and corporate entities to prioritize environmental health and safety.
