The Government of Ghana through the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has yesterday 30th of April 2024, released an amount of One Hundred and Seventy Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy Five Thousand and Thirty Five Cedis, Seven Pesewas (GHS170, 775,035.07) to mixed tiers of healthcare providers across the country.
This payment covers predominantly claims of January and February 2024 for lower tier facilities.
These providers form the majority of healthcare providers.
The NHIA also paid up to November 2023 upper tier facilities and healthcare providers.

In a statement signed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dr Da-costa Aboagye, he said the payment is in fulfilment of the NHIA’s mandate.
The CEO also noted that NHIA by the payments was ensuring the continued provision of quality healthcare services to all citizens.
Dr Da-costa Aboagye thanked all credentialed healthcare facilities for their dedication to the well-being of Ghanaians, particularly communities they serve.
“I am grateful for the excellent services all credentialed healthcare facilities provide and wish all workers of Ghana a Happy May Day”, the CEO conveyed in the statement.
