The visit by the Board and Management members was to formally introduce Dr Dacosta Aboagye, who is the Acting CEO to the Overlord of Asanteman and to seek his blessings as well as make a donation towards the Heal Kath Project.
With some succinct remarks, the Board Chairman, Dr Kwarko informed the Asantehene that the new CEO was a native of Kumawu and had started his new role with a clear vision to transform the activities of the NHIA.
Speaking later, Dr Dacosta Aboagye thanked the King for the opportunity offered him and the Board to visit at the time he was celebrating his 25th year reign on the throne Asantehene.
‘’Otumfuo, many of us at the NHIA are aware of your lead role in bringing development and peace to the country especially in the Ashanti Region and we are grateful to your commitment to the health and educational needs of the public including the needy and the vulnerable’’, the CEO noted
Appreciation:
Speaking through his linguist, Otumfuo commended the Board and Management for the work they continue to do at the Health Insurance outfit.
The work they do, the Asantehene said has enabled many especially the needy and vulnerable, to access health care using their health insurance cards.
‘’Your decision to pay homage to Otumfuo shows the kind of respect you have for the King and to donate money to the Heal Kath Renovation project how concerned you are about the things that are dear to the heart of Asantehene and so we pray for God’s blessing and protection for you to do well in work’’, the linguist stressed.
Commissioning:

Addressing the gathering, the CEO revealed that the NHIA would in June issue NHIS cards to persons within the ages of six (6) and 14.
This new drive is, the CEO stated, would become possible due to the partnership it has struck with the National Identification Authority (NIA) to reduce cost and ensure efficiency.
Member of Parliament:
Dr Nana Ayew Afriye, MP for Effiduase-Asokore commended the NHIA for constructing the new office to attend to persons who have enrolled in the NHIS.
This, apart from reducing travel costs and inconveniences the public faced earlier, would also enable people to access other services the NHIA offers, the MP added.
Board Chairman:
Dr Ernest Kwarko urged the chiefs and people to patronize the services of the NHIA so as to be able to attend to the hospital for care.
He also urged the people to extend the mandate of the NPP government since the administration values the lives of the population hence its commitment to paying claims from health service providers who are registered with the NHIA.
