Story:

A former Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a member of the Bawumia Campaign, Mr Adomako Baafi says the largest opposition party, the NDC has outlined plans to cause confusion on December 7.

Speaking to the media in Kumasi on Monday morning in reaction to the assault on the NPP’s youth organiser at an Ejura based Radio station, Mr Baafi alleged that the incident is a reflection of what the NDC has planned to unleash on voting day.

He noted that the NDC assign who inflicted the attack on his NPP counterpart was only showing signs of his party’s frustrations and the underlying scheme by his party to perpetrate violence from now until voting day.

“The attack on Abdul Rahman Hudu, the NPP youth organiser at Ejura by Abubakar Saddik Osman of the NDC is a testament of what the NDC has orchestrated and are unleashing from now till election day since they know they would suffer a third defeat on the row on December 7”, the former NPP Director of Communications claimed.

NPP’s Strategy:

The NPP is wining the upcoming December 7 elections with a good strategy, Mr Baafi boasted.

This strategy, he noted is a combination of both the work the NPP had done through Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia for 8 years and also the transformational policies Dr Bawumia plans to implement as President from January 7, 2025.

The NPP member, added that, rather than violence, the governing party plans to use peace and the projecting of its policies to win the upcoming elections.

“We in the NPP believe in our candidate Dr Mahamodu Bawumia and we are hopeful that by virtue of his temperament and qualities as a leader, we can get Ghanaians to vote and  endorse him as President on December 7”, Mr Baafi posited.

Law:

On the assault of the NPP youth organiser, Mr Baafi said the NPP would rely on the Police and the court to deal with the matter.

He noted that the party would continue to offer moral as well as financial support to Hudu to attend to the hospital while they resource him to deal with the criminal aspect of the assault.

Background:

36 year old Abdul Rahman Hudu, an NPP youth organiser for Ejura Constituency was over the weekend seen in a video to have been assaulted in a studio by an NDC assign whose name has been given as Abubakari Saddik Osman.

The incident appeared to be the normal political debate where each party represented by the two were showing which policies make their respective parties stand out and would make them win the upcoming elections at a studio.

However, things seem to have been taken personal by the NDC assign who instead of showing brain power to discuss issues, rather decided to use brawn power to upstage his NPP counterpart who appeared smiling and calm in the video before the assault.

Update:

Speaking to this reporter on phone, Hudu said the assault on his person has culminated in several injuries to his eyes, spine, head and body.

He however said that he had received a Police report after making a formal complaint to the security agency and has been treating the injuries at the Ejura government hospital.

A photo of him shows the effect of the incident.
