The District Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Hon. Mba Zechariah Alenbilla, has emphasized the need for national unity in driving agricultural growth.
The DCE stressed that agriculture is the backbone of the country’s economy, hence the need for all stakeholders to come together and support the government to grow it.
The District joined the rest of the country in celebrating farmers under the theme, “Eat Ghana, Feed Ghana, and Secure the Future”, at Abira on December 5, 2025.
The DCE mentioned the abundance of opportunities in the sector, citing government initiatives such as the ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’ programme and Feed Ghana, among others, urging the public, especially the youth, to take advantage of them.
Nana Kwaku Atakorah, Kontihene of Amakom Traditional Council, was crowned the 2025 District Best Farmer, receiving a tricycle, citation, and other prizes for his outstanding contributions to agriculture.
The District honoured 16 exceptional farmers with rewards for their outstanding contributions to agriculture.
The celebration was attended by various stakeholders, including assembly members, traditional leaders, religious leaders, farmers, and agriculture officers.
