RICHARD ADJEI Mensah Ofori-Atta, the Manhyia South NPP Chairman, has described Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s nomination as NPP running mate as historic.
In the history of the NPP, he said, Dr. Opoku Prempeh is the first elected Member of Parliament (MP), who has been nominated as the party’s vice presidential candidate.
Ofori-Atta aka ‘Tomtom’ said the Manhyia South NPP members should pat themselves on the back for making history together with Dr. Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’.
“Manhyia South NPP members should feel proud for making history. We are the first constituency to produce NPP vice presidential candidate, who is an elected MP.
“Former President John Agyekum Kufuor picked the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama, who was a contractor and President Akufo-Addo also picked Dr. Bawumia from Bank of Ghana.
“Napo is the first NPP elected MP, who has gone through the ranks to be nominated as our vice presidential candidate and Manhyia South should be proud”, he said.
Tomtom was, however, quick to point out that Manhyia South NPPs joy would be complete when Dr. Bawumia is elected as the next president of Ghana on December 7.
“Dr. Bawumia’s victory will enable Napo to become the next vice president of Ghana so we should all embrace hard work and campaign for the NPP to win”, he said.
