ENERGY MINISTER, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has provided food for 1,200 basic school pupils in the Kumasi Metropolis.
Nicknamed as ‘Napo’ in political circles, the minister organized a mega party for the pupils to mark his 56th birthday today (Friday).
Napo, who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South in Kumasi, attained 56 years on May 23rd, 2024.
Because to his tight schedule at work, he couldn’t organize a party to celebrate the special day in his life on May 23rd.
He, however, decided to organize a big party at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi for the children, who were served with delicious food and drinks.
Bouncy Castle was also at the event grounds for the children to have fun.
To climax it all, Napo presented 10,000 exercise books pens, pencils, mathematical sets and learning materials to the kids.
Kumasi Metro Director of Education, David Oppong, lauded Napo for celebrating his birthday with the children in Kumasi.
According to him, Napo’s laudable action shows how humble and caring he is, saying “the pupils are grateful to him”.
The highlight of the programme was when Napo took to the dancing floor with the children, who displayed their dancing skills.
Napo, after cutting the birthday cake with the happy pupils, said “I want to mark my special day with children in Kumasi”.
He said he would replicate the generous gesture in the coming years, saying “I’m happy to be here today”.
the school children, who were extremely delighted, prayed fervently for more years, sound health and God’s blessings for Napo.
