Napo chases NDC seats

Less than 1 minute Minutes

FROM ALL indications, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will struggle to retain some of its parliamentary seats in the upcoming polls.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has declared that his party will snatch some of the NDC parliamentary seats this year.

According to Napo, the seats that the NPP is targeting to snatch from the NDC are scattered across the country, including the Ashanti Region, the NPPs stronghold.

“We are targeting to snatch the Sekyere Afram Plains, Asawase and other key parliamentary seats from the NDC during the impending election”, Napo said confidently.

The NPP vice presidential candidate also descended heavily on the NDC, accusing the party of failing woefully to perform when they were given the chance to govern.

Napo recounted that the country was plunged into total darkness, popularly known in the local parlance as ‘Dumsor’, which destroyed businesses when NDC was in power.

According to Napo, the NDC has not changed ever since they left political office in January 2017, so he urged the electorates to reject the NDC and ex-President Mahama.

“This same NDC under former President Mahama plunged the country into total darkness. The NDC destroyed a lot of businesses and that resulted in severe economic hardship.

“So if John Mahama and the NDC are looking for power again, what are they coming to do differently this time around?” he asked, attracting laughter from the crowd.

“Is NDC coming to promote Dumsor? or is the NDC coming to sack nurses and teachers?”, Napo asked again, stressing that the NDC deserved to remain in opposition.

He predicted that after Dr. Bawumia’s electoral victory on December 7 the NDC would remain in opposition for a very long time, saying that the NPP has done more to remain in power.

Napo was speaking during the official launching of the Ashanti Regional NPP Campaign Working Committees and Women’s Conference, held in Kumasi on Sunday.

He likened the NPP to light and the NDC to darkness, explaining that “the light, which is the NPP will transform the country, whilst the darkness, which is the NDC, will bring hardship”.

The NPP Vice Presidential Candidate therefore implored the electorates to vote for Dr. Bawumia and all the NPP parliamentary candidates to sustain national growth.
