Less than 1 minute Minutes

General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua says his desire is to see the party becoming a stronger and well oiled in all aspects so it can effectively regroup and recapture power in 2028.

Speaking to this reporter while reacting to allegations from a known journalist with the Kencity media in Kumasi, Lawyer JFK said there is nothing in him that would make him orchestrate or takes sides in the internal elections of the NPP.

He stated that he has at no point discussed anything to suggest he favours the party voting to elect its flag-bearer before its other internal elections including polling station, constituency, regional and national elections.

The General Secretary noted that for the journalist by name Shaibu Lasisi to paint him that way showed he knew little about him as a person because as General Secretary he wants a solid NPP and not personalities.

“Everything in me has been wired to be fair to all persons and for me I am a beneficiary of the fair processes in the NPP for which reason I will never support any candidate or scheme against the other because all of us belong to this great NPP”, the General Secretary stated firmly.

Pitching Camp:

The General Secretary explained that every journey or event he has attended outside the country or elsewhere has been through an express invitation to his office or that of the party’s.

He noted that as General Secretary he has to honour such invitations that demand his presence and that of the party’s.

This, he mentioned has been his mindset since assuming power as General Secretary of the party.

“I attended the Harvard Business School Lecture and others because I was specifically invited and similarly I attended the IDU conference recently because as General Secretary I was specifically invited since we share same ideology with the European Group after which I visited our Holland Branch to show sympathy with our Chairman who was unwell and that’s all I did”, Lawyer Kodua explained.

Proposals:

The NPP, the General Secretary disclosed was currently receiving proposals from all of its members across the world as it plans to undertake reforms.

He stated that the proposals would be thoroughly discussed and debated at the upcoming national conference with the adoption of those which will receive unanimous endorsement from party members.

This procedure, the General Secretary maintained would guide the way forward of the party as it seeks to reform its ways and restructure to prepare for its internal elections as well as the national elections in 2028.

“My focus as General Secretary is to guide this process of collecting proposals from our members across the world and ensuring these are thoroughly discussed at the upcoming national conference with the aim of building a solid party which would not be controlled by any individual but the structures that would be adopted by its members”, Lawyer Kodua stated.
