Dr. Amoah emphasized that it’s time to address this societal challenge.

Among the measures to address the issue, the MP suggested that young people below the age of 18 should be prevented from patronizing alcohol, betting, and other activities meant for adults.

“I say this with a heavy heart. Drug abuse, alcoholism, and phone snatching in this constituency are too alarming, and all stakeholders must come on board to address this canker immediately,” Dr. Amoah passionately stated.

He further suggested that the police should ban unlicensed motorbikes from operating in the constituency as a matter of urgency to crack down on criminals.

Dr. Amoah appealed to responsible adults to contribute to restoring societal values and virtues in the younger generation.

“We should have a sense of community. We need to ensure that there is a restoration of a sense of community,” he emphasized.

Dr. Amoah also charged security agencies to disband camps where youth commonly gather to smoke, saying, “Camps meant for smoking where youth are commonly seen should be disbanded with immediate effect,” he added.
