While commercial vehicles operating from organized transport stations have heeded the order, those under less strict control are still charging the old fares.

Prince Sarfo, a student, told Press1news.com that he was compelled to pay the old fare of GHC 5.50 when he took a commercial car from Tanoso in the morning.
He narrated that the driver and his mate insisted that everyone pay the old fare or get off the car.

Portia Owusu, a trader, said the car she took from Nkawie to Kumasi in the morning charged the old fare of GHC 8.50.

When she questioned the mate about the old fare, he claimed he was unaware of the new fares, which almost led to a confrontation between the driver and passengers.

Vulnerable passengers who travel short journeys daily are unhappy and are appealing to transport authorities and stakeholders to ensure strict enforcement to bring sanity to commercial vehicles.
