The Communication Officer for Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) in charge of Ashanti Region and Greater Accra, Nana Ama Obeng Manu Mavis, has appealed to the media to provide comprehensive coverage of road crashes in Ghana.
By providing comprehensive accurate, reliable, and informative reports on road crashes, the campaign on road safety will receive the attention it deserves.
She emphasized that it’s incumbent upon the media to play their roles effectively in their quest to bring positive changes in society, citing campaign on road safety as one of their services to society.
She made the appeal at a day road safety training workshop for journalists in Kumasi, organized by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) and BIGRS on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
The training workshop equipped journalists with data and more knowledge that would improve their skills in reporting road crashes.
Selected journalists from traditional and social media also shared their expertise and experiences in road safety reporting.
They pledged their support in playing their roles effectively to minimize road crashes in Kumasi and beyond.
