The Assembly was carved out of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) in 2018, and has been one of the top-performing districts in the country.

Committed to improving social amenities, security, and creating a conducive atmosphere for private and government businesses, the Assembly is encouraging the public to pay their levies and rates.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, the MCE and his team started their inclusive revenue drive in markets, shops, lorry parks, and other commercial areas.

Hon. Asibey educated the public on the importance of paying taxes and levies to fund development projects and urged them to meet their revenue obligations.

The team included the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Adu Boateng, Heads of Departments, and Assembly staff, who are collecting property rates, market tolls, business operating licences, and other fees as specified in their fee-fixing resolution.

The revenue mobilisation exercise’s duration was not officially communicated by the Municipal Information Officer, Mr Eric Boateng, but is expected to last for some time.
