Addressing the press at Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs on Friday, September 12, Ambassador (rtd) Nana Effah Appenteng, Chairman of the Funeral Planning Committee, said they have concluded preparations towards the Asantehemaa’s ‘Dote Yie’.

He urged mourners and media who will participate to comply strictly with directives and measures put in place for a successful funeral event.

For emphasis, he announced that there will be a temporary ban on commercial activities including trading and schooling on Thursday, September 18, and warned that all movement should cease at night.

He also warned that no photographs could be taken where the Asantehemaa is laid in state, further warning that women wearing earrings and scarves should remove them before approaching her body.
