President John Dramani Mahama will Wednesday, November 12, launch the ‘Nkoko Nketekete’ agricultural flagship programme in Kumasi, aimed at boosting the country’s poultry industry.
The programme, designed to benefit thousands of commercial and household poultry farmers, is expected to significantly create jobs and reduce the importation of poultry products in Ghana.
The launch event, to be held at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, will be hosted by Hon. Eric Opoku, Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister, and Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, Mayor of Kumasi.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include government officials, NDC party officials, stakeholders, traditional leaders, and other interested groups.
The ‘Nkoko Nketekete’ programme is not just a fulfilment of the 2024 campaign promise, but also part of the President Mahama-led administration’s effort to promote agricultural development and improve the livelihoods of the unemployed and farmers in the country.
