A Cybersecurity Expert, Seth Gyapong Oware says Ghana must act now to secure its digital future through effective legislation and frameworks.

He reminded Ghanaians that while the internet offers freedom, users must stay vigilant.

The expert noted that many victims suffer psychological harm from scams especially on the digital space.

Mr Oware of the Cybersecurity Authority (CSA) emphasized the urgent need for Ghana to take decisive action in securing its digital future through effective legislation and regulatory frameworks.

According to him, Ghanaians must recognize that “we are not in normal times,” stressing that building a safe and sustainable digital environment must begin now.

He acknowledged that while there is freedom online, users must prioritize their safety and security.

Speaking at the Bright Conversations on Cybersecurity, he urged the public to be more aware of cybercrime threats.

Mr Oware also noted that many victims of online scams suffer not only financial losses but also psychological distress.

He further called for the development of stronger policies to guide online activities.

He stressed that the CSA cannot tackle the challenge of cybercrime alone and needs collective effort from all stakeholders.
