The occupant of the Golden Stool and custodian of Asante lands, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has advised the newly posted Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Arthur Osei Akoto, to refer cases of chieftaincy and land disputes to him.
“I handle chieftaincy and land disputes with ease,” the Asantehene reiterated.
He made the remarks when the new regional police commander was introduced to him at his palace on November 6, 2025.
The Asante Monarch reiterated his strong disapproval of land guards, stating that he has warned chiefs against using land guards to protect their lands.
He added that he has already warned chiefs to stop parading land guards on lands in the region, stating that “any chief found parading land guards on his lands will be destooled.”
Otumfuo admonished the regional commander of police to deal ruthlessly with criminals to maintain law and order in the region.
He, therefore, urged the regional commander of police to be resolute, impartial, and remain committed to discharging his duties without interference.
“If anyone comes to you with my name seeking favour or mercy, don’t mind him or her. If I need you, I will invite you”, Otumfuo emphasized.
