All 22 Assembly members of the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly voted “Yes” to endorse Eric Assibey as the Municipal Chief Executive nominee.
The “Yes” or “No” vote, organized by the Electoral Commission (EC), took place at the Assembly Hall on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
According to Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), the MCE nominee required approval from at least two-thirds of the Assembly members present and voting at the special meeting.
In his acceptance remarks, the MCE-elect praised President John Dramani Mahama for his appointment and expressed delight to the Assembly members for their overwhelming support.
He assured them of his commitment to work together to enhance the municipality’s development.
Professor Kingsley Nyarko, Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Mr. Richard Agyenim-Boateng, former MCE for Kwadaso, Mr. Francis Adu Boateng, Constituency Executives of NDC, and other party officials were present at the confirmation meeting.
