A NEW veterinary clinic has been constructed at the Kumasi Zoological Gardens.
The medical facility has been built to help address the health issues of the animals.
The Manager of Kumasi Zoological Gardens, Dr. Meyir Ziekah, made the disclosure.
“This facility will also help to increase the lifespan of the animals”, he emphasized.
According to him, a children’s playground and snack bar project are also ongoing in the zoo now.
“We are also embarking on a walkway project that will be highly friendly to the physically challenged”.
Dr. Ziekah was speaking with Kwame Awuah Nimfour of Opemsuo FM and it was monitored by Press1News.
He said the Forestry Commission is covering the drainage systems in the Kumasi Zoo to create a conducive environment for patrons of the Zoo.
The Kumasi Zoo Gardens, Dr. Ziekah said, now has about 238 animals from 58 different species.
The animals in the zoo include lions, monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, birds, antelopes, vultures and others.
