After decongesting, improving sanitation, and sanitising transport sector, the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, has embarked on an unannounced tour of some parts of the central business district from November 18-19, 2025, as part of his efforts to sanitize the city.

During the tour, he interacted with traders and transport operators, urging them to keep their environment clean and maintain order in the city.

Hon. Ofori-Agyeman Boadi’s presence was greeted with thunderous cheers and chants from the public, with many describing him as a one-of-a-kind Mayor of Kumasi in recent times.

“King Zuba, you are the best Mayor. You are a hardworking Mayor. Champion Mayor One, No size!”, the public chanted.

The Mayor’s unannounced tour which will be periodic, aimed to inspect the cleanliness and general condition of the city.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has been working tirelessly to improve waste management, and maintain law and order in the city, and the Mayor’s tour is expected to boost these efforts.

The Mayor was accompanied by some staff of the assembly, metro guards, and security personnel.

Areas visited include the Komfo Anokye Roundabout, Cultural Centre-Zoo Roundabout stretch, Pampaso, Adum, Otumfuo Roundabout, and Adehyeman Junction/MTN.

Where dirt and filth were found in the midst of traders and transport stations, he ensured that they were cleared, warning them to keep their places tidy.

He also commended those who kept their environment tidy and urged them to maintain their clean environment.
