The enthusiastic Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, a keen supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, visited the club’s dressing room after their game against Dreams FC yesterday.
Kotoko SC thrashed Dreams FC 4-1, and the Mayor couldn’t hide his joy.
He found no better way than to visit the dressing room to give players, technical team, and management a thumbs-up.
He made an undisclosed cash donation, expressing his joy and unwavering support.
Recall that the Mayor donated $1,500 to support Kotoko’s preparations ahead of their clash against Accra Hearts of Oak.
He pledged support to each member of the club’s contingent for the match if they beat their rivals in Accra.
He added that he and Dr. Frank Amoakohene plan to assist the club’s supporters’ leadership in reviving Kotoko Circles in the region.
During the Mayor’s visit to the club’s dressing room, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi expressed joy and promised to join the club in Bibiani for their fixture against Bibiani Gold Stars.
The match is described by football pundits in Ghana as a destiny-determining clash.
With three fixtures to end the season, Bibiani Gold Stars sit at the summit of the league table with 56 points, while Kotoko are 4th with 54 points, behind Nations FC and Hearts of Lions who are 2nd and 3rd respectively with 54 points apiece.
