Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC attacker Albert Amoah and defender, Gilbani Samba O’niel, have been awarded an undisclosed cash prize and trophy as top scorer and overall best player of the club, respectively, in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.
Amoah, fondly called ‘Agoogo,’ scored 12 goals despite missing part of the season due to injury.
His colleague, Congolese international Samba O’niel, ensured stability in Kotoko’s defense line with versatility and adroitness.
Coincidentally, both players who received their awards at a brief but momentous ceremony today were debutants for Kotoko in the just-ended league season.
The award, sponsored by Circle 008 in China, recognizes the duo’s outstanding performances, which deserve plaudits and commendation.
The award is expected to spur the two players on and, also encourage their colleagues to give their best in the GPL and CAF Confederation Cup campaigns in the next season.
