Less than 1 minute Minutes

Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC has brought an end to Accra Hearts of Oak SC’s unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) with a narrow 1-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Morifing Donzo’s penalty in the 44th minute proved to be the decisive moment in the match, as Kotoko held on to secure all three points despite Hearts’ strong second-half pressure.

Prior to their clash with Kotoko, rebuilding Hearts, under coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, had enjoyed an impressive start to the season, winning four matches and drawing four.

Now, coach Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey’s side not only enjoy the bragging rights after ending Hearts’ unbeaten run but also remain unbeaten after six GPL matches.

Kotoko has won four matches and drawn two, with three outstanding matches to play, due to their failed continental campaign.

The win moves Kotoko up to seventh on the GPL table, while Hearts remain fifth. Kotoko’s next match is against Vision FC on November 12, while Hearts travel to face Swedru All Blacks midweek.
