According to the contractor, he is touched by the plight of the needy and the suffering hence his decision to ask the authorities at KATH to compile a list of patients who have been unable to pay their bills and cost of treatment.

“I have several times sneaked in here to observe things for my self and i was touched to do what i am doing today even though I also have in mind to donate something big towards the Heal KATH project”, Mr Job stated.

Chief Executive Officer:

Showing appreciation to the Kumasi based road contractor, Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, CEO of KATH thanked Mr Job for the gesture.

He noted that nothing is troubling to see patients who have been treated at KATH still lie around the wards because they cannot pay their bills.

The one million cedis payment, the CEO stated would help the management to restock and resource its outfits to be in a better position to attend to other patients.

“I am grateful for the gesture from Kofi Job as well as many others who have and continue to show kindness to the needy and sick. It is my prayer that we keep showing support to especially the sick anytime we have opportunity because all of us are potential patients”, the CEO stated.

Background:

The CEO of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah started work at the premier facility on the 1st day of December, 2022 after receiving his appointment by the President of Ghana a month earlier.

About three months into his tenure, together with his management, he presented drawings and designs of how he would want KATH to look like.

This followed a comprehensive assessment of the state he found KATH in upon assumption of office.

Gladly receiving the proposal for a complete renovation of KATH, the Overlord of Asanteman, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II decided to raise funds for same and on the 10th November, 2023 the project code named “Heal KATH Project” (HeKaP) was unveiled to take contributions from the public as well as other corporate organisations and institutions.

Currently the HeKaP Committee Chaired by Mr Sammy Adu Boakye has received funds and contributions close to 5 million dollars out of the 10 million dollars needed for a complete renovation of all the five blocks at KATH.
