KMA to enforce street regulations in Bantama

Less than 1 minute Minutes

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has expressed grave concern over the rampant trading activities on streets, extension of shops onto pavements, and parking of vehicles in the Bantama Sub-Metro, which have contributed to vehicular traffic in the area.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of KMA on November 25, 2025 following the Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman and team’s visit, it condemned these acts and warned those involved to stop immediately.

Traders on pavements and asphalted streets around the Bantama Market have been instructed to relocate to the Racecourse Market with immediate effect.

Affected traders have been directed to contact the Bantama Sub-Metro Administrator for allocation at the new market.

The KMA has given a deadline of Friday, November 28, 2025, for traders to comply, after which shops and structures extended onto pavements and walkways will be pulled down, and owners surcharged.
