In a press release issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) on Friday, May 2, 2025, it is stated that “The Management of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) wishes to inform all traders, particularly those plying their trade in the streets, medians, and other unauthorized areas within the Central Business District (CBD) of Kumasi, to cease forthwith.”

The release further states, “This comes as a reminder of the deadline of May 1, 2025, issued earlier, for such traders to voluntarily move their wares, metal objects, tables, etc. from the streets.”

Areas affected include Adum, Kejetia, Pampaso, Dr. Mensah, around Zoo, Dunkirk, Roman Hill, around Kejetia Market, Adehyeman, and Alarba.

The City Authorities are urging traders to comply fully with the directives to avoid being forcefully ejected.
