“The ongoing rehabilitation project is to ensure that roads and routes inside the market become motorable”, the Mayor stated.

Details:

The Mayor stated that the Assembly had undertaken earlier discussions with the Urban Roads Department to regravel the roads in the market arena.

Subsequently, Hon Pyne stated that government through the DRIP project supplied the Assembly with construction equipment to use for same.

The Assembly, he added therefore decided to put the machines into use by starting the ground works at the market.

“We decided to undertake these regraveling and rehabilitation at the race course so that traders would have the ease to sell their items and spare them the agony of flooding anytime it rained at the arena”, the Mayor stated.

Appeal:

Meanwhile, the KMA Boss has appealed to residents in Kumasi whose roads are bad to have patience for the Assembly.

He noted that all bad roads have been marked out and would soon be attended to.

The Assembly, the Mayor intimated has been working with the various elected Assembly Members to have the list of roads in their areas that needed to be attended to and upgraded.

“I appeal to residents to have patience for the KMA as we commit to work on all roads and routes that would make life comfortable for them and their families”, the Mayor pleaded.
