KMA Boss gifts distinguished students Otumfuo-branded books on Independence Day

Less than 1 minute Minutes

Hundreds of exercise books branded with the 16th Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, have been awarded to individual students and schools that have excelled in academics and sports in the Kumasi Metropolis.

It was the Mayor’s way of celebrating heroes whose footprint will be bold in the sands of time, while recognizing the contributions of younger ones in academic and sporting spheres.

The beautifully designed exercise book has a white background with adinkra symbols on the front cover, a bold picture of the Asante Monarch in full regalia with his hand raised in greeting.

Also found on the front cover are the Ghana Flag at the top left corner, a logo of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), and the official logo and theme for this year’s independence anniversary celebrations, as well as the famous black star square in the green segmented area.

The back cover features a picture of the resilient Mayor in a black jacket, the Ghana flag, KMA flag, National Anthem, Ephraim Amu’s “Yen Ara Asaase Ni”, and a multiplication table.

Notable among the beneficiaries of the exercise books is Blessed Owusu, a form one student of St. Hubert’s Seminary Senior High School, who performed incredibly well, winning the Overall Best Athlete in the recently held Ashanti Regional Super Zonal Athlete Competition.

It is equally important to note that some individuals and athlete groups in Opoku Ware SHS and T.I. Amass who excelled in the competition also benefited from Otumfuo-branded books, plaques, and certificates of honour.
