The Mayor, who has been visiting hospitals frequently to stay abreast of prevailing conditions, saw the need to convince Bawa Rock Ltd, a mining company, to support efforts to reduce the financial burden on some patients at KATH.

He further explained that the issue of unpaid patient bills has persisted for decades; however, by December 2024, the rate had become unbearable, prompting him to seek assistance.

Eric Addai Boateng, Sustainability Officer for Bawa Rock Limited, represented the company during the donation.

The Chief Executive Officer of KATH, Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, expressed gratitude for the donation and appealed to other well-to-do individuals and corporate entities to support the cause.

Also present at the brief donation ceremony was the Metro Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Dwira Darko.
