VEHICULAR TRAFFIC flow in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, was impeded on Saturday during the famous ‘Showdown’ walk.
The historic political walk attracted a sea of people, who are mostly New Patriotic Party (NPP) members and delegates to the streets.
Dressed in ‘Showdown’ branded T-Shirts, the participants of the walk, virtually, flooded the principal streets of Kumasi, causing traffic in the process.
The people were seen chanting the name of their political idol, Kennedy Agyapong, who is a strong contender in the upcoming NPP presidential race.
Significantly, the walk started from the State Boys School, near Suame Roundabout, around 7am on Saturday and it lasted for close to three hours.
The participants walked through Abrepo Junction, Bantama High Street, Gee Roundabout, Pampaso, Adum, Asafo, ending at the Jubilee Park.
The sea of people that converged at the Jubilee Park, who were mostly youth, were in jubilant mood when Kennedy Agyapong stormed the event venue.
Kennedy Agyapong, in his address, stated emphatically that he is visionary and patriotic so he should be elected president on NPP ticket in 2024.
He therefore appealed to NPP delegates to, in the interest of the party and the country, vote massively for him on November 4, when NPP goes to the polls.
