Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC has offered Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey a two-year contract as head coach, announced on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Karim Zito was initially engaged as a technical advisor but later assigned as interim head coach after the club parted ways with former coach Prosper Nartey Ogum over poor performance.
In a short period under his leadership, Kotoko has shown improvement, finishing fourth in the 2024/25 league, winning the 2024/25 FA Cup, and claiming the rejuvenated Presidential Cup at the expense of Hearts of Oak.
The two-year contract presents a challenge to the former Dreams FC gaffer, who led the club to the historic knockout stage in the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup.
As he prepares the FA Cup champions for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, hopes are high that he will replicate or even surpass last season’s achievement.”
