I’ll Restore Trust Among NPP Members—Asabeee

Less than 1 minute Minutes

Stephen Asamoah Boateng, a leading aspirant for the National Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has declared his intention to deliberately rebuild and foster trust among the party’s membership if elected during the upcoming internal elections.

He emphasized that an NPP Chairman must be an individual whom party members can rely on to deliver fully on the mandate entrusted to them.

Asamoah Boateng (often referred to as ‘Asabeee’) contended that the incumbent Chairman and some current National Executives have unfortunately forfeited the trust of the very members who elected them.

“My decision to run for National Chairman of the NPP stems from a deep desire to serve the people so effectively that they can trust me implicitly,” Asabeee stated.

Call for Resignations

The former Information Minister argued that the party’s current National Executives should have tendered their resignations following the recent electoral defeat.

He asserted that having failed to secure victory for the NPP in the 2024 general election, the incumbent executives had no compelling reason to remain in office.

Instead, Asabeee suggested that an interim committee should have been established to oversee the selection of the flag-bearer and the conduct of other subsequent internal elections.

“Why should executives who failed to retain power for us be permitted to hold onto their positions when they know they did not fulfill the duties their mandates required them to execute?” Asabeee questioned.

Pledge:

The National Chairman hopeful also promised to convince certain disgruntled party members, who have since left, to return to the NPP fold.

He attributed their departure to dissatisfaction with internal arrangements, including the conduct of party elections.

“Alan Kyerematen and many others left the party because they were unhappy with the manner in which internal issues were handled by the National Executives. Upon my victory in next year’s polls, I will bring him and others back into the NPP family,” Asabeee pledged.
