I’ll Contest National Vice-Chairperson Position—Sam Pyne Affirms

Former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party and a former Mayor for Kumasi, Mr Samuel Pyne has affirmed his decision to contest for the first National Vice-Chairperson position when nominations are opened in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking to this reporter over the weekend, Mr Pyne said he had engaged some influential persons in the party about his desire and ambition.

He noted that so far all those he had consulted have given him their blessings.

“Having served the party for over four decades in different capacities from polling station to Regional level, i believe the time is up for me to use the experiences and knowledge I have acquired to shape the administration of the party at the National level”, Mr Pyne stated.

Passion:

Mr Pyne noted said his passion is to impart knowledge in organisational, communication and strategic initiatives into the ranks of the party.

He also mentioned the need to carry out deliberate orientation for party members so that they could become abreast of the ideals and philosophies of the NPP brand.

The NPP, Mr Pyne said had thrived the tortuous path of multiparty democracy and even before the advent of same in Ghana because it has always seen the art of governance as a tool to develop the country’s infrastructure as well as empowering its human resource base.

“It has come to the point that party members are consciously educated and provided with orientation so that they can become abreast of the ideals that make the NPP unique where members serve with dedication and rewarded for same in their service to both party and the country”, he stated.

Background:

Mr Pyne having risen from the polling station level of the party later became electoral area coordinator of the party serving with commitment and unbridled passion.

Continuing his service to the party at the constituency levels, Mr Pyne was later elected to serve two terms as the Ashanti Regional Secretary.

Appointed as Kumasi Mayor during tbe second term of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration, Mr Pyne carried out infrastructure investment in the educational sector of Kumasi.

Leading projects like the Bloomberg Philanthropic Initiative as well as the Sub-Saharan Africa initiative on sustainable environment in popular project code named HORESD, Mr Pyne placed the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly on the World map including the strengthening of sister city partnerships between Kumasi City and Dortmund in Germany as well as Dallas in the United States of America.
