The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Yohunu, has announced promotions for members of the Police Royal Ladies, a group inspired by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
This announcement was made at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi during the first Akwasidae festival of 2026 held on February 1.
The promotion comes after the Police Royal Ladies held two separate honor parades, one at the Police Headquarters on January 6, 2026, and another at the Manhyia Palace on February 1, 2026, to celebrate Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The IGP praised the ladies for their hard work and dedication, stating that their displays were a humble way of expressing the Ghana Police Service’s appreciation for the Asantehene’s unprecedented visit to the police headquarters.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, former Attorney-General, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, former Minister for Trade and Industries, Alan Kyerematen and 2024 Vice Presidential candidate for NPP, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
