Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, a leading aspirant for the position of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured constituency chairmen of his commitment to providing exceptional and strategic leadership for the party if elected.
Addressing constituency chairmen in the Ashanti Region over the weekend, Mr. Asamoah Boateng emphasized that the NPP requires bold, decisive leadership with a clear strategy to revitalize the party’s reorganization efforts.
He stated that he is prepared to offer this kind of leadership, ensuring that all branches of the party receive the necessary support to fulfill their mandates.
“We need a chairman who can offer decisive leadership at all times. In me resides the commitment to deliver that, and even more, to the satisfaction of all party members,” Mr. Boateng asserted.
Commitment to Resourcing the Party:
Mr. Boateng pledged to provide adequate resources to party members, enabling them to effectively carry out their duties.
He noted that only a well-equipped and energized party can effectively mobilize its base for a campaign aimed at securing victory in 2028.
The National Chairman hopeful stressed his firm belief that a strategic Chairman, who is fully aware of the opposition’s tactics, can significantly enhance the party’s prospects of returning to power.
“We need someone who understands the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the political landscape of the country, and the NPP will find that person in me,” Mr. Asamoah Boateng declared.
Consensus on Appointments (60/40):
Mr. Asamoah Boateng also promised to build consensus with a future NPP President on political appointments.
He proposed that 60 percent of appointments would be at the discretion of the President, while the remaining 40 percent would be filled by the national party structure.
He noted this approach is intended to satisfy and balance the interests of both the party’s leadership and the Presidency.
Response from Bantama Chairman:
Expressing gratitude for the visit and the message, Mr. Fiifi Mensah, the NPP Chairman for Bantama Constituency, thanked Mr. Asamoah Boateng on behalf of his colleagues.
He stated that the chairmen look forward to collaborating with him closely once he is elected as National Chairman.
Mr. Mensah further pledged the chairmen’s commitment to playing their part in the party’s ongoing restructuring process.
“We are inspired by your assurances and plans for our party. We also promise to do our part in the ongoing restructuring process so that we can effectively bounce back and recapture political power in the upcoming 2028 elections,” Mr. Mensah concluded.
