Haruna Iddrisu Laments Over Kumasi Traffic Chaos

The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has expressed dismay over the deplorable state of roads in Kumasi, citing his personal experience with traffic congestion during the recent visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

The Temale South Member of Parliament(MP) lamenting in Parliament yesterday said, “We have not opened up the city, yet it’s one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. The King’s City. We’ve not invested in Kumasi roads.”

He was part of the delegation that accompanied the German President to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) on Tuesday, November 4.

He described the traffic situation as “hectic,” saying he had to navigate through congested roads from the Prempeh International Airport to pick up the German President and his entourage from the Lancaster Hotel, Ahodwo.

He emphasized that the government needs to do more to expand road infrastructure in Kumasi to meet the present demand.
