Grassroots participation key to NPP’s success – Hon. Shirley Kyei Tiwaa
Ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s national delegates conference on Saturday, July 19, 2025, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Hon. Shirley Kyei Tiwaa, has joined calls for consideration of grassroots interests in decision-making that will propel the party to victory in the 2028 general elections.
Movers and shakers, bigwigs, kingmakers, and other decision-makers of the NPP are expected to meet at the University of Ghana (Legon) stadium to brainstorm on issues relevant to the party’s forward march.
Extending her warm felicitations to delegates ahead of time, the Atwima Nwabiagya South legislator appealed to them to take transformative decisions driven by grassroots participation.
The opposition NPP is meeting to among other things to decide on modalities for the selection of the party’s polling station, constituency, regional, and national executives, including parliamentary candidates and the flagbearer before 2028 general elections.
Prior to Saturday’s national delegates conference, bigwigs, including former MPs and national executives, have used various media outlets to express their thoughts on decisions that are likely to bring the NPP back to power.
With this in mind, Hon. Kyei Tiwaa expressed optimism that the national executive would consider and accept decisions made by grassroots members during the conference.
She emphasized the importance of embracing the views and decisions of party delegates, stressing that it would strengthen the party’s unity and progress.
She urged delegates to engage constructively and make decisions that would benefit both the party and the nation.
