The maiden non-denominational prayer and thanksgiving programme, themed “Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity,” was held at the Calvary Charismatic Church auditorium in Ayigya, Kumasi, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.

The revered minister of God noted that it is paramount that Ghanaians, regardless of faith, ethnicity, politics, among other considerations, pray for national leaders, unity, peace, and the well-being of the nation in reference to 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

He admonished Ghanaians, particularly those in authority, to be guided by divine wisdom, remain truthful, faithful, and transparent in prosecuting the national agenda.

“We need to reflect, reset, and renew for national prosperity by being guided by good morals, being accountable, being transparent, being truthful, and loving the nation,” he advised.

The maiden Metropolitan/Regional National Day and Thanksgiving was graced by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, and Mr. Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi, Regional Chairman of NDC.

Also present to say intercessory prayers for arms of government and the nation at large and peace at the Ghana’s borders
were government officials, including regional, divisional, and district security heads.

Later in the day, the Muslim community converged at the forecourt of the Kumasi Central Mosque at Asewase to hold an equally impressive service for the nation.

Just like their colleagues of the Christian faith, the Muslim clergymen, led by Sheikh Zakariya Abdul Rahman, Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, praised Allah, recited the Holy Quran and committed the nation and its leaders to Him.

Addressing the two separate congregations, the Ashanti Regional Minister thanked the clergymen for their role in making the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving services a huge success, charging the congregants to commit to seeking the welfare of nation.
