Frimpong Manso sacked by GoldStars

Less than 1 minute

Ghana Premier League (GPL) defending champions, Bibiani GoldStars, have parted ways with their head coach, Frimpong Manso, reports suggest.

Their management’s decision follows defeat in their Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League opener against JS Kabylie last Saturday.

A new head coach of the club has not been announced.

GoldStars lost 2-0 to the Algerian side at the Accra Sports Stadium with Frimpong Manso, fondly known as ‘Mayanga’, in the dugout.

Their return encounter against JS Kabylie in Algeria is scheduled for Friday, September 26.

The absence of the former Kotoko and Black Stars player may affect their chances of proceeding to the next stage of the competition.

Coach Frimpong Manso joined GoldStars in December 2023, tasked with saving the club from relegation.
