Former Kotoko Player, Professor Poku-Boansi Appointed KNUST Director of Graduate Studies

Professor Michael Poku-Boansi has been appointed the new Director(Dean) of the School of Graduate Studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Prof Micheal Poku-Boansi holds the record as the youngest person to hold a full professor status at KNUST.

He was promoted to the rank of a full professor at the Department of Planning at KNUST on August 1, 2021.

Professor Poku-Boansi’s latest appointment as the Director(Dean) at the  School of Graduate Studies at KNUST will take effect from November 1, 2024.

Details:

Prof Poku-Boansi’s appointment to the position of director of the school of Graduate Studies comes after serving as the deputy director at the school since January 2022.

He has also served in various capacities since he joined KNUST, including the head of department for the Department of Planning.

Prof. Michael Poku-Boansi is a fellow of the Ghana Institute of Planners.

Background:

Professor Michael Poku Boansi was a member of the Asante Kotoko Youth Team in the early 2000s.

He was drafted from the KNUST school team by Ernst Midendorp who was  Kotoko’s coach at the time.

Some of his team mates back then were Francis Akwaffo, Gabriel Opoku-Ware among others.
