Follow Protocols To Invite Us To Campaign Trails—Francis Adomako

2 Minutes

The Ashanti Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Adomako, has called on flagbearer aspirants to follow official protocols when inviting regional and constituency executives to join their campaign trails.

By adhering to established procedures, Mr. Adomako believes the current tension and antagonism directed toward regional leadership can be resolved.

Clarifying Campaign Protocol:

Speaking at a year-end meeting with constituency organizers and their deputies at the Longford Conference Center in Kwadaso, Mr. Adomako addressed recent accusations leveled against Ashanti Regional executives.

He noted that some aspirants have unfairly criticized the regional body for a perceived lack of involvement in their tours.

“Rather than formally writing to the regional body to invite us to join their campaigns, some aspirants simply expect us to follow them whenever they arrive in the Ashanti Region. Unfortunately, that is not how the process works,” Mr. Adomako clarified.

Right to Choose:

Mr. Adomako, who has declared his intention to contest for the position of Regional Secretary next year, emphasized that party leadership retains the same democratic rights as any other delegate.

“Every regional or constituency organizer just like any other delegate has the right to support the flagbearer aspirant of their choice,” he stated.

He added that while executives are free to campaign and rally support for their preferred candidates, such activities must be conducted with decent language and professional conduct.

Decorum and Unity:

The Regional Organizer stressed that the ultimate goal is the party’s success in the 2028 general elections.

He warned against the use of insults or innuendos that could fracture the party’s internal cohesion.

Divisive Rhetoric:

Mr. Adomako cautioned that hate speech or divisive commentary only serves to alienate delegates who support rival candidates.

Prioritize the Big Picture:

He reminded aspirants that a “well-oiled grassroots campaign” is essential to retaining power, and this requires a united front once a candidate is eventually selected.

Public Perception:

“I urge all aspirants to campaign with party unity in mind”, Mr Adomako stressed.

He added that, “this is the only way Ghanaians will maintain their faith in us and entrust us with the mandate to govern in 2028,” he concluded.
